WE ARE AMBASSADORS

“Take heed that no one deceives you.  For many will come in My name saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”  Matthew 24:4 & 5

Do you know that there are millions of people on this planet today that believe that Jesus walks the earth now?  There are “pastors” who have convinced their followers that they (the “pastors”) are Jesus.  There's one right here in Miami (my own backyard) who alone has millions of followers.  We can chuckle at the absurdity of this.  We may be dismayed that these followers can believe such a thing.  But the fact it is that MILLIONS of people that have been taken in.

I know what the word of God says and what to look for when Jesus returns, so I know that none of these men are Jesus.    If these people knew the word of God, then they would also know that these men are not Jesus but predators.

So most people that you know will not become prey to a cult; but you know many that are vulnerable.  There are so many that are hurting and may turn to drugs, alcohol in an effort to escape that pain.  Some will get into relationships that they shouldn’t be in just to fill that void.  Others may escape into their work, or fill their lives up with activities just so they don’t have to be still; because when they’re still, the emptiness echoes and reverberates inside of their minds.

Here’s the thing, they may not know the word, or know the promises that God has made them because you’ve been silent.

They may know that you’re a Christian, but if you don’t share who Christ is and His impact on your life, they don’t know.  They’re not mind readers.

I’m not saying that you should start approaching random strangers at the gas station or the mall parking lot and ask them if they’re saved; cuz that just freaks people out (it freaks me out).

I’m not saying that you should beat your friends and family over the head with bible verses, or fire and brimstone; cuz that’s self-righteousness, not righteousness…and it freaks them out.  Of course you should use the bible, but not to beat them up with.

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.”  Matthew 5:11

Don’t be silent in the name of being non-offensive, because I promise you that the name of Jesus will offend some, okay will offend a lot.

“Now then, we are ambassadors through Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”  2 Corinthians 5:19

I’m saying that in a genuine way, not a rehearsed way that you should share your testimony.  Whether it the whole story of how Jesus saved you; or it may just be talking about how God showed up with some extra money so that you could afford to go out on date night this week.  You will know what to say and who to say it to.

I’m saying that you don’t have to be a great theologian to be an instrument of God.  Just be willing to allow Him to use you and you will be amazed at what He does through you!

  1. Thank you for this beautiful message today. I also read the following and it touched my heart this morning:

"I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. He gave me life that I might enjoy all things." (author unknown)

    Have a wonderful day!
