IS IT YOUR BATTLE?

We most often think of warriors as being men, but I believe that women are born warriors.  We are born with that maternal instinct to protect, even from a young age.  I am the oldest of three and both of my parents had to work just to put food on the table, so I became the protector of my siblings.  Nobody was gonna beat up my little sister or brother, except for me!

When we get older we get involved with causes that may protect animals, children, and even health.  We will defend our husbands, and our marriages.  A woman will fight for and do anything that she can to protect her children.  I don’t have kids, but I do have four cats, and you might think that I’m off my rocker, but a lot of that maternal love that has been stored up in my heart for babies goes to my fur babies!

There are all kinds of things that we will fight for, and many times God tells us that we should fight and that He will be there with us in the battle, but every once in a while God will tell us that the battle isn’t ours to fight.

2 Chronicles 20:15; “Do not be afraid nor dismayed…for the battle is not yours but God’s.

The Lord gave this to Judah when it seemed that everyone wanted to kill them and that they were greatly outnumbered.  But Judah didn’t do nothing; God told them to show up and watch.

2 Chronicles 20:17; “You will not need to fight in this battle.  Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you…!

When they got there they worshipped, prayed and sang praises and watched the Lord win the battle.  When the war was over, Judah collected the spoils, more than they could carry.

I know for me especially when it comes to my family, I feel like I’ve got to do something to defend or protect them against all evils.  And the Lord has reminded me that the battle isn't always mine to fight, sometimes my job is just to worship, pray, and sing praises to the Lord and to watch Him win the war!

  1. I hope everything is well and really love this well written post. You are so right. I have a hard time not trying to "fix" everything. I love to help or fix things - sometimes we have to let go and trust He will take care of it all. Have a lovely weekend :)
